West Bromwich Albion Football Club, commonly known as West Brom, is a professional football club based in West Bromwich, West Midlands, England. Founded in 1878 as West Bromwich Strollers, the club adopted its current name in 1879.
West Brom was one of the 12 founding members of the Football League in 1888. The club has a rich history, highlighted by early successes in the FA Cup. They won their first FA Cup in 1888, and have lifted the trophy five times in total (1888, 1892, 1931, 1954, and 1968).
